December 2007
There is a rumour of a site. We haven't given up, we've been keeping the feelers out for a home for LR. In this day of sky high commercial site rents, HSE problems, and this lovely idea of putting car remotes in the middle of 70cms.

The GB3LR Group GB3LR is run by the local radio amateurs for all to use within it's coverage area.
The group was orginaly started in Lewes in the early 1908s as an aside of the now retired Lewes club, The group kept going and reloacted the repeater to the south of it's coverage area to cover the bottom on the Ouse valley, Seaford and Peacehaven. The repeater has had a few homes, including the infamous saga concerning Key Fobs. However, through friends of the group, another more suitable site was found which is where we are today.

Friends of LR We invite all users to help us with the running and upkeep of GB3LR, Our time is is free, but site fees, electricity, and equipment do cost money. We are lucky that we have good contacts and benefactors that help us.

Access To access and use GB3LR is easy.
Select the offset frequency then either...
1) CTCSS - just select 88.5Hz sub audible tone on your transmission, press the PTT and talk. It's that easy!
2) 1750Hz, The more traditional method of access is still available, but remember, following the initial tone, the repeater expects some audio before "opening" and giving an acknowledgement "T"
Please remember that LR is 12K5 spec repeater, so overdeviation is possible if your radio is set for 25HKz . (most amateur equipment is...)

Newhaven Fort
If you are in Newhaven, The historic fort offers a interesting and enjoyable day out. The fort also has it's own radio club. Many member of this club use the repeater when mobile to the club.

Equipment After many refits. "LR" now is a donated Tait 800 base station, with G8CUL logic. The cativities are the only remaining item from when LR first went on air in Lewes, and need serious TLC or replacement Help us to achieve this. (press that PayPal button now!) The aerial is a Jaybeam four stack, more or less aimed up the valley

WebsiteThe GB3LR web site is currently being written - so changes may occur from time to time while I sort out back end stuff and learn a bit more about writing web sites ! I've noted a few formatting issues when viewed with Firefox.
